BOARD NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE:
Looking for New Board Members

Now is a pivotal time to make a difference in the future of the Northwest Stone Sculptor’s Association.  With the societal shift brought on by Covid-19, we are at a crossroads with the organization and looking for people to strengthen and support the health and long-term wellness of NWSSA. Help carry this transition successfully by offering your skills to build strength in these new times to keep NWSSA thriving.

Our organization has a solid pool of enthusiastic donors but only a handful of volunteers.  NWSSA would greatly benefit from your unique perspective and skills.  We offer the only stone carving symposiums open to all skill levels sharing interest and passion for stone sculpting.  The inclusiveness offered by the community gives all the opportunity for growth and development as an individual, in the NWSSA community and as a stone sculptor.  Through NWSSA offerings professional sculptors carve and share wisdom side by side with newly inspired stone carvers this unique opportunity has been fostered over the 30 years of its existence.

Currently, all NWSSA Board meetings are on Zoom, so location no longer limits your involvement.  Please consider reaching out to This email address is being protected from spambots. HOW YOU CAN HELP WITH NEWBIES COMING TO SYMPOSIUM:
Some of us remember that it was a bit intimidating to come as a brand new member to Symposium.
We are looking to match experienced symposium goers with newbies in a buddy system we hope will  make sure all feel welcome.  We’ll be adding a “Pre-Symposium reach out” to what most of us already do with newbies on this on the field and at dinner. How can YOU be helpful?  Volunteer to become a buddy.

How will this work?
  1. Tell us you would like to be a newbie buddy by contacting Sue K This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. You can do it NOW before you forget!
  2. Sue will give you the contact info of a person that is new (with their permission of course) once she gets the list together.
  3. You will then be able to reach out by email or phone to introduce yourself, connect in the days before camp so they become as excited as we are to make dust together. You can answer any questions that they may have as they pack up to come. Maybe even coordinate a plan to meet them when they arrive if that would help them feel connected (if they want) and to be their “touch point” during the time they are there.
  4. Voila…..you have introduced our NWSSA member’s generosity of spirit even before they show up on the field.
